David is the founder and managing partner of Blumberg Capital, an early-stage venture capital fund based in San Francisco. David is an authority on early stage investing with more than 25 years of experience. He founded Blumberg Capital in the early 1990s and launched its first venture-backed fund in 2001.

Prior to Blumberg Capital, David managed international investments with the Bronfman Family Office, Adler & Co, APAX Partners and at T. Rowe Price. He also launched business development for Check Point Software Technologies as one of its top four executives.

David earned his A.B. in government, cum laude, from Harvard College and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and INSEAD. David speaks French and is proficient in Hebrew and Spanish.

Johan Van Overtveldt is a journalist and the Minister of Finance of Belgium. He joined the government in 2014 as a member of the conservative, Flemish nationalist N-VA party, after having served as a Member of the European Parliament, where he was Vice-Chairman of the ECON committee.

Before entering politics, Johan had a long career as a journalist, working for many years as the Editor-in-Chief of the Flemish financial weekly Trends and its sister publication Knack.

Johan has a PhD in applied economics from the University of Antwerp and also holds an MBA from the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL). He lives in Kapellen, Antwerp and is a father of four. In his spare time, you can find him out on his racing bike.

As a computer science engineer, she worked in software and firmware engineering in the telecomm industry at Geotek and Qualcomm. She then turned to Brain Research, pursuing a Master’s degree focusing on Brain Computer Interface – using brain signals to operate robots. Ruthy held key positions in R&D, project and product management, as well as business development, in medical device companies, among them Medingo, which she joined with founding until acquisition by Roche.

Ruthy led several Internet and mobile health initiatives, was a strategic and business consultant to medical and services companies, and was an Entrepreneur In Residence at Carmel Ventures, focusing on digital health opportunities.

Ruthy is a business mentor to student-entrepreneurs at the College of Management; co-manager of “Yazamiyot” – promoting women tech entrepreneurship; and is on the Steering Committee of Israel Brain Technologies, an organization promoting President Shimon Peres’s vision for building a neuro-tech industry in Israel.
